What is Reiki?
Reiki, sometimes called “palm healing” or “hands on healing,” is a form of energy healing that dates back hundreds of years to a Japanese healer named Mikao Usui. The word “Reiki” derives itself from the Japanese words “rei,” meaning universal and “ki,” meaning life energy. The idea behind Reiki is that we are all composed of energy, and that sometimes, usually as a result of physical injury or emotional trauma, that energy becomes blocked or out of balance. The goal of Reiki is to help restore the flow of energy, helping people become more balanced on a physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual level.
How does Reiki work?
During a session, you will lay down and relax while I gently place my hands over you, allowing for the transfer of energy from my hands to your body. It is a gentle and loving practice and allows me to serve as a conduit of love and goodness, while your body receives whatever it most needs.
Why is Reiki beneficial?
Reiki promotes relaxation, stress reduction, and overall well-being. Many who receive this energy practice report having better sleep, decreased anxiety, and increased healing. While Reiki is not a replacement for medical treatment, it complements all other modalities of health and wellness and can even increase the efficacy of other types of healing.
What can I expect to experience during a Reiki session?
While everyone’s experience is completely unique, you can expect to feel a nurturing calm as I support you and guide you into a deep state of relaxation and healing.
